Zoning Commission

The Jefferson Township Zoning Commission is a five-member board, with one alternate, made up of volunteer residents appointed by the Board of Trustees.

The Commission plays a vital role in shaping the township’s land use policies. Its primary responsibilities include reviewing applications for rezoning, evaluating development plans for Planned Unit Developments (PUDs), and proposing amendments to the zoning resolution.

In reviewing PUDs, the Commission has significant influence over site layout, building appearance, landscaping, and amenities. For rezoning requests and zoning text amendments, the Commission submits formal recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
